Mt. Baker

Mt. Baker is a majestic peak standing at 3286m or 10,780ft and can be see form Vancouver Canada. It is located in Deming Washington. Impressive in all seasons; ski or snowboard in the winter and spring, stroll through the alpine meadows in summer and early fall. Mt. Baker is largely undeveloped but is an outdoor adventurist paradise. The area is home to mountain goats, elks, many species of birds. There are several options for camping and hiking in the area. Some popular campsites are Silver Fir, Excelsior, Douglas Fir, Swift Creek, Silver Lake, Marble Creek, Heliotrope Ridge, and Deadhorse Creek. For those who are not into roughing it, there are other types of lodging outside of the park area like cabins, motels, small hotels and B&B. From Seattle, Mt. Baker area is only 2hrs 30 mins, from Bellingham 1hr 30 mins and from Vancouver BC, it’s 2-hour drive.
