Chuckanut Drive

If you are visiting Bellingham or driving from Vancouver to Seattle, WA, add this destination to your travel itinerary. From I-5, use exit 250 and drive along W-11 S. Chuckanut Drive is a scenic byway between Bow and Fairhaven, Washington USA. It is a stretch of winding roads on Chuckanut Mountain overlooking Samish Bay. Most of the way is very narrow or has no shoulders. There are several viewpoints worth stopping to enjoy. You will find several seafood restaurants and local arts & craft shops along the way. You can also park and hike the shady trail down to the beach. Teddy Bear Cove is incredibly charming and quiet. Be aware that the hike back up is pretty steep, and some may need to stop for a quick rest to catch their breath, but it’s fun and worth the effort.
